Two ways to commission
Our catalogue covers a lot of ground, but it is not everything ever painted. If the work you want is not here, or the picture does not exist yet, the studio can still paint it. Both are painted by hand by the same people who paint everything else we sell.
A painting we do not stock
Name it, or send a picture of it. If it is a known work and the copyright has expired, we can paint it.

A painting from your own photo
A person, a family, a pet, a house, a place you remember. Painted in oil, not filtered or printed.

What makes a good photo
Works well
- Sharp and in focus
- Natural daylight
- Face clearly visible
- The largest file you have
Harder to paint from
- Screenshots or heavily filtered photos
- Harsh flash or deep shadow
- Very small or blurry files
- Sunglasses or a hidden face
Which paintings we can paint
We paint works whose copyright has expired, which covers most art made before the twentieth century. If you ask for something still in copyright, a modern painting or a photographer’s image, we will tell you and suggest what we can do instead. Your own photographs are yours, so those are never a problem. More on what counts as public domain.
