About the museum
The museum's most famous picture is Impression, Sunrise, the harbour view at Le Havre that gave Impressionism its name. Much of the collection came from Monet's son Michel, including late paintings of the water lily pond and the Japanese bridge at Giverny. Other Monet works include The Pont de l'Europe, Gare Saint-Lazare and London, Parliament, Reflections on the Thames. The museum also holds a large group of paintings by Berthe Morisot.
