The painting
The Baptism of Christ
With a staff topped by a gold cross, John the Baptist pours river water over the head of a praying Christ, both barefoot in the Jordan, as two angels kneel nearby, one holding Christ's garment. The left angel is recorded as the young Leonardo's work, and much of the landscape is probably his too, painted in oil while the rest is tempera. At the top, God's hands reach out of an opening heaven, with a dove. Vasari claimed Verrocchio quit painting after seeing that angel, a story nobody can confirm. This panel came out of Andrea del Verrocchio's workshop in Florence around 1470 to 1475, and it is famous for one figure. The kneeling angel on the far left, holding Christ's robe and turning to look up, was painted by the young Leonardo da Vinci, Verrocchio's apprentice. John the Baptist pours water over Christ's head in a shallow river, with the dove of the Holy Spirit above. The original is in the Uffizi in Florence.Painted to order, by hand, in oil on canvas. A photo of your painting comes to you for approval before shipping.

Questions
How is the finish priced?
The price you see is the painting at the size you chose, in the finish you chose, and it updates as you change either. Rolled arrives in a protective tube, ready for local framing. Stretched arrives on wooden bars, ready to hang. Framed arrives in its frame, ready to hang. Stretched and framed go up to 60 × 90 cm (24 × 36 in); larger paintings travel rolled.
How long does it take?
Painting begins after you order and takes 3 to 4 weeks, including drying and the photo you approve. Delivery then takes 4 to 10 working days to most countries. More on delivery times.
Will it look exactly like the original?
It is painted by a person, so no. Brushwork varies between copies, which is the difference between a painting and a poster.
What if I do not like it?
Ninety days from delivery, full refund.
Can I get The Baptism of Christ in a different size or shape?
