About Vertical Paintings
Many famous paintings are taller than they are wide, especially portraits and flower pieces. Claude Monet painted his wife on a windy hill in "Woman with a Parasol" (1875). John Singer Sargent painted "Madame X" (1884) full length in a black gown. Gustav Klimt's "Judith I" (1901) is tall and narrow, framed in gold.
Alphonse Mucha's decorative panels are tall and narrow. Vertical paintings make a room feel higher. Our sizes follow the original's shape. A tall canvas also fits well above a narrow console table.
